Hiking in wine country

Earlier this summer, we drove all the way to Napa and didn’t taste any wine! The result of 30m perusing the web for an interesting place to hike that sits roughly halfway between Davis and SF led us to Cold Canyon – which looked awesome, but turns out had an active wildfire right across the highway that day. So instead, we met up with Jill and Peyton in the Skyline Park in Napa.

Apart from being hot and dry (signature California summer over the last couple years), the hike was beautiful and not actually that crowded. Note for the future: don’t skimp on snacks, even if you think your hike will be less than 6 miles. It might be such a fun time that you’ll be out there for 10 or 12.
