Finally Visiting Ediza Lake

About four or five years ago we stopped in Groveland for coffee on our way home from Yosemite. The coffee shop had a beautiful wildlife photography exhibit, and we both wandered around to look at all of the amazing landscapes. I spotted one of an absolutely stunning lake surrounded by mountains and said “We have to go here.”

Luckily, the tag for the photo showed that it was Ediza Lake, so we added it to our to-do list, and finally, for our one-year anniversary weekend, we made it there!

We had an amazing three-day trip through Inyo National Forest, into the Ansel Adams Wilderness. I think the photos below are really the best way to describe it. The only downside to the trip was that after talking to the ranger while getting our permit and chatting with a few locals along the trail, we learned that we had been saying Uh-dee-za Lake all wrong… it’s Eh-die-za Lake! (We still prefer our pronunciation.)
