A Return to Westland (Part 3)

During our stay in Wanaka, we had our eye on the West Coast weather because there was an extra short coastal drive that we had skipped in the rain, and we wanted to head back if we could catch a sunny day. And it turns out, it is possible to find a sunny day over there! We had a nice day drive from Wanaka to Haast (back on the West Coast) and then drove south along the coast to Jackson Bay, a tiny tiny little fishing town with one little fish & chips shop. We had great views of Jackson Bay with mountain peaks behind in the distance (we didn’t even realize they were there before!), took a nice walk through the bush to a bay with awesome wave action, and enjoyed probably the best fish and chips I’ve ever had at the Cray Pot while sitting in the sun overlooking the bay. We stopped a few times along the drive back for short walks and view points. Such a nice little day trip!

  1. This really confused me until I realized I had read this yesterday. Because I don’t wait for Mailchimp. Mailchimp waits for me.
